Fifty Fourth Post

Well, Dad called today and told me that Mom has had a complication in her recovery. Evidentally her colon has been pulled up into her upper chest through a small hole in her diaphragm which is a very rare condition. The doctors don't perform many of these surgeries because it is so rare but it is also one that they can't afford to mess up.

I've kind of been avoiding telling my friends here at USC about my Mom because I got tired of all the questions people asked about her at home, and wanted to distance myself from that, kind of start fresh here as a normal guy.

So nobody here really knows about Mom yet except my roommate. I have people to talk with though, so don't worry that I'm repressing my feelings or anything. I guess I just wish Mom was recovering normally so we wouldn't have to deal with this.
