Seventh Post

So just a few updates.

We haven't heard back the results of the brain CAT scan but they are doing more scans this morning of her brain and legs. They have removed the traction from her legs (some of the hardware) and the nurses say she is doing "fantastic."

Also I found out yesterday that all the airbags in my car deployed when mom got hit which is good. I am also positive that she was buckled in as she does that every time she drives.

I also found out last night that mom had a pretty serious cut on the top of her head on the left side. Previously I had always been standing on her right when I went to see her but this time I stood on the left and say where some hair had been shaved away and the skin stapled together.

  1. Dearest Scott and family,
I want you to know that Mrs. Booth sent an email to her small group from church immediately and that we have all been praying for your mom and for your family. We will continue to do this. Thank you for allowing access to the blog. I think of and pray for Allyn often, and it is good to see the updates. I pray she continues to fight like a wildcat for her life, and that the results of the stroke are very minor. God bless her, and you, and the rest of your family. Know that so very many people are lifting your mom to the Lord constantly.
With love from Mrs. Booth's friend,
    Mary North

  2. Scott, Denise Irwin forwarded your blog to me, and I just found out about your Mom. My thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery are certainly with you and your family. You are right that your Mom is such a strong person that we would all expect her to pull through most anything. It is inspiring that you are able to post updates in the midst of all this personal turmoil in your life. Thank you and best wishes for all to turn out well....

  3. Scott,
I am not sure my comment from early this morning came through. Thank you so much for keeping all of us who are holding your Mom close in our thoughts and prayers so wellinformed. You are the person right now that she is so proud of - staying positive, and looking for reasons to believe in the very best outcome. She cherishes your deep heart/soul connection and I am sure she feels your presence and love throughout all this. YOur Mom has a tremendous spirit, and I look forward to the day when I can see her smile again. I am sure it will be soon! We are here for you and your Dad, whatever you need now and in the future. I love your Mom and keep her close though I am not there. Take care.
    Love,

    Debby H.

  4. Dear Scott:

This is Carla Frank's mother writing. I am truly touched by your blog posts and all of the Frank Family, John, Carla, Elliot, Mariel, and I are hoping, praying and wishing for your mother's recovery. I saw how proud she was of you at your senior project presentation and I know she will be even prouder (if that is possible!) when she hears how you are handling this incredibly traumatic situation. Our thoughts are with you.

    Sincerely,

    Delia Jampel Frank

  6. This is Dora Misner, Allyn's Trainer at Golds Gym. I first herd of the Accident from Kathy Guzman Monday morning. I was wondering why she had not shown up for our session that morning. When I got the message I was stunned, I had troubble focusing the rest of the day.

Even though I have never met Scott or Steve I feel like I know you both very well. I have been seeing Allyn for a long time and you two are always the topic of the day. There is no way she would want to miss one minute of your first year at college Scott! She is such a strong willed woman, I KNOW SHE WILL PUSH THROUGH THIS!!

I look forward to all the updates. I don't know if I could be so dilligent if I were in your shoes Scott.

I really would love to drop by a Lasagna or something when the timeing is right. I will look for the scheduling for that.

I have never had someone close to me in such a horrible accident, I keep you all in my thoughts and prayers constantly!

Allyn, when you read this, know that you are an inspiration and that you are loved very much!

    Love,
    Dora Misner

  7. Steve, Scott and Allyn,
I was stunned to hear this terrible news. All our prayers are with you. It is incredible how all your lives have changed in the blink of an eye. It's hard to understand now but God has a purpose for everything and I'm sure he is with you every step of the way. Allyn is so stong and so determined, she will come out of this with flying colors. Please let us know if we can help in anyway at all. All our love we are sending your way.
